A hill walker was airlifted to hospital this evening after suffering a serious injury at Muckross in south west Donegal.
Emergency services rushed to the scenic coastal area after receiving reports that a person had suffered a fall.
The casualty was airlifted from the scene by Rescue 118 helicopter and transported to hospital for urgent treatment.
In a statement, Killybegs Coast Guard expressed their gratitude to the National Ambulance Service and Rescue 118 for their invaluable assistance. They also extended their thanks to local residents who helped during the rescue operation.
“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery,” said a spokesperson.
The Coast Guard reminds the public of the importance of calling 112 or 999 in case of an emergency on land or sea.
