Donegal runner Mark English has expressed his disappointment at missing out on an Olympic final place in the men’s 800m.
The Letterkenny man finished sixth out of eight in the semi-final at the Stade de France in Paris this morning, despite being well positioned after the first lap.
“It wasn’t the result that I wanted today. I ran to try and win it. The wheels just came off with 50m left in the race,” he said.
The Finn Valley AC athlete spoke to RTE Sport a short time ago.
