Tallaght athlete Rhasidat Adeleke’s dreams of an Olympic medal were dashed in Paris this evening.
The 21-year-old came in fourth in the women’s 400m at a time of 49.28.
Adeleke has already made history as the first Irishwoman ever to make an Olympic sprint final.
Laghey native Kelly McGrory (Tir Conaill AC) will be back at Stade de France in the women’s 4x400m relay tomorrow after a sensation third placing in today’s heats.
Finn Valley AC’s Mark English missed out on a place in the men’s 800m final after a sixth-place finish in his semi-final heat.
