Donegal Rose of Tralee competitor Niamh Shevlin is up there among the frontrunners to take this year’s crown.
The Glenswilly dancer is joint-fifth in the early betting odds released ahead of the festival.
With odds of 12/1, Niamh shares the fifth favourite spot with Chicago Rose Megan Cahill and Cork Rose Shauna O’Sullivan.
The Rose of Tralee festival kicks off on the 16th of August, and one thing that’s guaranteed is that Niamh will have the crowds captivated by her dancing skills.
Niamh is one half of world champion Irish dancing duo, the Shevlin twins, and is also training to be a primary school teacher. She still dances with the prestigious Riverdance flying squad, a dedicated team that performs by invitation.
Niamh’s dance career began alongside her twin brother Gavin, dazzling audiences with their synchronized performances. Niamh debuted as a Lead Dancer with Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance in 2019.
With Irish dancers, singers and even a bagpiper in contention, host Dáithí Ó’Sé is sure to be presented with an array of party tricks from this year’s contestants.
