Donegal RNLI branches are continuing to raise funds with various sponsorship events.
As many supporters are aware, the RNLI Lifeboats are 200 years old this year being founded 4th March, 1824, and various events have been taking place throughout the UK and Ireland as part of these celebrations; with specially commissioned An Post stamps, as well as a Garden Party at Aras an Uachtarain more recently.
At the recent Kerry vs Armagh All Ireland football semifinal at Croke Park, Lifeboat volunteers were on field at half time promoting the ‘Float to Live’ message which is also promoted at airports and ports in Ireland.
Crew and Volunteers were asked to capture an image of the organisation at 200, as close as possible to 18.24 on Thursday last 1st August, entitled ‘One Moment, One Crew’. Some members of the local Fundraising Branch headed to the iconic Fanad Lighthouse to capture their ‘Moment’, and this image along with all other Lifeboat crews and Volunteers is now available online at https://rnli.org
