Independent Councillor, Michael McClafferty, has again called on Uisce Eireann to provide water tankers for customers in west Donegal.
He was speaking after the latest outage in the area following disruptions over the weekend.
Works have been taking place this morning to restore water to the Falcarragh, Derryconner and surrounding townlands.
However, Cllr McClafferty said, Uisce Eireann should have heeded his calls to bring in water tankers as far back as Saturday night.
“The businesses that can’t wash dishes or make coffee this morning and that’s even before hairdressers open this morning. Tourists are also complaining about no water, no showers and no flushing toilets,” he said.
“Irish Water needs to meet with us and listen and send water tankers to west Donegal and stop the red tape rubbish. People are suffering around here – think of all our sick in the nursing homes and doctors surgery etc. Irish Water – listen to us, speak to us please.”
