Met Éireann has issued an updated severe weather warning for County Donegal ahead of Bank Holiday Monday.
It’s on top of an existing status yellow warning for wind and rain that comes into place at midday today (Sunday).
At midnight tonight, that will be upgraded to a status orange severe rain warning for County Donegal, as well as Galway and Mayo.
The national forecaster has warned of heavy and persistent rain with strong and gusty southerly winds, especially in exposed areas, with the status orange warning remaining in force until 10am on Monday morning.
Flooding is expected overnight, as well as very difficult travelling conditions on the roads combined with poor visibility.
