Mona McSharry has failed in her bid to make another Olympic Final – despite a very brave effort in the 200m Breaststroke semi-final in Paris this evening.
The Ballyshannon Marlins protege came sixth in a time of 2:24.48.
With a bronze medal already in the bag, the Co Sligo woman looked carefree once again in the pressure-cooker environment of world-class swimming.
However, the former Colaiste Cholmcille, Ballyshannon pupil failed to make the top three in the semi-final finishing sixth in a field of eight and eleventh overall.
It means she will not race in the final tomorrow despite a very brave effort.
