One of Ireland’s greatest actors has hailed a completely unknown young Donegal actor after working with her on a recent film.
Aidan Gillen is lauded as one of the most talented actors of his generation with starring roles in everything from The Wire to Bohemian Rhapsody to Game of Thrones.
The Dubliner recently worked on a new Irish film called TRAD which tells the story of a group of teenagers busking around Ireland.
Gillen revealed he got to work with first-time Donegal actor and fiddle player Megan McGinley and admits he was blown away by her talent.
He said “Sarah (Greene) and I just looked at eachother….These are the moments.
“Not hanging out with George Clooney. Watching teenagers who are first-time actors. You learn so much.”
Hailing from Gaoth Dobhair, Megan is a former Ulster Senior Fiddle Champion and has toured with Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance.
However, it is her roles in front of the camera which is now attracting the attention of directors.
