Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 70s suffered serious injuries in a collision at Killaghtee, Dunkineely on Monday evening.
A man in his 30s was also taken to hospital for treatment following the three-vehicle crash.
As gardaí continue to investigate the collision, they are appealing to anybody who may have travelled in the Dunkineely area (on the N56) yesterday evening at around 5.40pm and who had a dash cam to make the footage available to Gardaí.
“If anybody witnessed the collision, we ask them to make contact with us. Gardaí in Ballyshannon may be contacted on 071-9858530,” a spokesperson said.
No other injuries were reported from the incident.
The woman is being treated at Sligo University Hospital while the man was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive treatment for injuries that were non- life threatening in nature.
The road closure remains in place this Tuesday morning. A local diversion is in place, however all HGVs are asked to travel via Ardara as the diversion route is narrow.
