Donegal County Council has been praised for addressing a flooding issue in a disabled car parking space at St Eunan’s Cathedral in Letterkenny.
The space had often been rendered unusable during times of rain, as water pooled in the spot with nowhere to go.
Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh highlighted the problem at the July meeting of the Letterkenny-Milford MD, pointing out that the Cathedral car park is usually full during Mass times and at funerals etc., but that particular spot is almost always unusable.
In the past two weeks, council staff have been on the ground installing a gully.
“I would now like to thank the Roads Engineer and staff for addressing the drainage issue there by installing a new gully, which means that parking spot will now be available for disabled parking,” Cllr Kavanagh said.
