Mona McSharry broke her own Irish record en route to qualifying for the finals of the 100m breaststroke at the Olympics in Paris this evening.
She repeated her heats performance by finishing a brilliant second place in her semi-final, and set a new national record of a 1:05.51 in the process.
The Sligo swimmer, who trains with the Ballyshannon Marlins in Donegal, will now be going for gold in the final.
The 100m breaststroke final gets underway in Paris at 8:25pm Irish time tomorrow (Monday) evening.
