Poor weather conditions have delayed a search off the Clare coast for a boy who went missing near the Cliffs of Moher two days ago.
The search was called off last night because of rough seas.
It is understood the boy, who was holidaying in Ireland with his family, became separated from them on Tuesday.
The search operation began when the alarm was raised.
A spokesperson for the Department of Transport told RTE News the Coast Guard Rescue Coordination Centre in Valentia is assisting along with Doolin Coast Guard Unit and Coast Guard helicopter R115.
Coast Guard rescue crews returned to shore yesterday afternoon as weather conditions were said to be not ideal with low-lying cloud in the area.
A decision on when the search would resume is due to be made when conditions improved.
