A young Letterkenny man is to stand trial on a number of fraud related charges.
Thomas Reilly appeared at Letterkenny District Court.
The 21-year-old was served with a book of evidence to appear at Letterkenny Circuit Court on October 24th next.
He faces a total of three charges, two under the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act of 2010 and also a breach of the peace.
He is charged that on a date unknown between April 18th, 2018 and September 27th, 2021 at Ulster Bank in Letterkenny did engage in converting/transferring/handling/acquiring/possessing or using property that is the proceeds of criminal conduct, to wit a sum of money while knowing that/believing that/being reckless as to whether or not the said property was the proceeds of criminal conduct.
He is also charged that on an unknown date between November 1st, 2020 and January 23rd, 2023 at Letterkenny Credit Union did engage in converting/transferring/handling/acquiring/possessing or using property that is the proceeds of criminal conduct, to wit a sum of money while knowing that/believing that/being reckless as to whether or not the said property was the proceeds of criminal conduct.
Reilly, of Canal Road, Letterkenny, was also charged with a breach of the peace at Lower Main Street in Letterkenny on January 23rd, 2023.
His solicitor, Mr Michael Shiel, requested that his client be certified for one legal counsel for his pending trial.
The case was adjourned to Letterkenny Circuit Court on October 24th.
