We had some eager golfers last weekend from the Donegal Down Syndrome group, where we had chipping and putting drills and then a hole in one putting competition.
They enjoyed a lovely lunch in Hunters Bar and Grill afterwards with a prize presentation by Lady Captain Anne Flanney.
Thanks to all our volunteers and we are looking forward to the next visit on 9th August.
Also in Hunters Bar & Grill recently, prizgiving was held for the following competitions:

Pierce Purcell:
Letterkenny’s Pierce Purcell team advanced to the Ulster Final with a great win against Omagh golf club on Sunday.
Club Captain Paul Carr and Adrian Flanagan put the first points on the board at home with a 6 and 5 win , quickly followed by a 5 and 4 win for Darragh Heaney and Rory Kenny.
In Omagh it was a much tighter affair. Michael Nelis and team captain John Russell, having been up all day, lost 17 to go 1 down with 1 to play.
However, the other match in Omagh was a different story , with Brian O’Donnell and Keith Spence playing some marvellous golf to get the all important half match that sent Letterkenny through to the Ulster Final in Rockmount on 4th August where they will play Greenisland.
Minor League:
The minor League team played the first round of the quarter final game V Ballybofey and Stranorlar on Sunday and secured a 4/1 and 13 holes up result against a strong B&S team.
The game was played in a very sporting and competitive manner. It is the first time the two clubs have competed against each other in this competition for several years. On a day when there was plenty of sport which could have been enjoyed elsewhere, the golfers of Letterkenny and Ballybofey provided their own thrilling and exciting golf on the fairways of Barnhill. The return leg to be held at 2pm in Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club on August 11th.
