Cork City 1 – 0 Finn Harps
For the second time this month, Finn Harps made the long journey down to Cork and came away empty-handed.
Again though Harps put in a solid performance against the runaway First Division leaders, but it just wasn’t to be.
The Ballybofey men were resolute in defence, but a fluid passing move saw Malik Dijksteel score the game’s only goal just before half-time with a strike from outside the Harps 18-yard box.
Cork maintained consistent pressure throughout the contest as Harps sat back in defense, a few times coming close through Success Edogun on the break but never posing any real threat to Cork’s dominance.
Up next for Harps is another long away journey as they play Treaty United next Friday evening.
