There is widespread sadness following the sudden death of a young woman in New York who has strong connections with Donegal.
The sad and sudden death of Chloe Boyle yesterday has brought widespread shock to her family in the Rosses and the Gaeltacht lár regions of the county.
Chloe’s grandparents on her father Tommy’s side were Hughie Boyle (John) from Annagry who lives in New York and Bríd (formerly Doherty) who was originally from Letterbric in the Ballinamore area and related to the large and well known Doherty family in the area. Bríd passed away a few years ago.
Chloe would have turned 18 in a few weeks time and only two weeks ago enjoyed a trip to Dublin with her mother Erina to see Taylor Swift in concert.
Chloe, who was due to start her college life in August, took unwell while at work in New York and the cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy.
Charlie Boyle (Yank) from Mullaghduff, who is a first cousin of Chloe’s dad Tommy Boyle, a New York Police officer, said that the tragic news brought great sadness to all those who knew the family in the Rosses and the Gaeltacht lár.
He added “Her parents Tommy and Erina, brother Liam and a wide family circle in New York are naturally struggling to accept young Chloe’s sudden death at too young an age.
“Arrangements are not yet finalised and the thoughts and prayers of many are with the whole Boyle and Conlon families.
“We had the pleasure of meeting her a few times and she was a beautiful and bubbly young girl “.
