A man reported missing in the Sliabh Liag area of Co Donegal has been found safe and well.
The man was reported missing by his family before 10pm last night.
A search for the missing man was co-ordinated by the Malin Head Coastguard Centre between 10.30pm and 11pm.
The search involved members of the Killybegs Coastguard Unit and the Rescue 118 helicopter based in Sligo.
Members of the Bunbeg Coastguard Unit were also dispatched to the scene using specialist drone equipment.
The area is an increasingly popular location for walking and hiking.
However, as the search was ongoing the missing man’s family contacted them emergency services to say the man had been in contact with them.
A spokesperson for Malin Head Coastguard Centre said the search was then stood down.
“Thankfully there were no casualties and the search was stood down,” said a spokesperson.
