Inishowen Innovation (ii) has announced the appointment of Lee Tedstone as its first ‘Entrepreneur in Residence’ at its Buncrana hub.
This move marks a significant milestone in ii’s mission to support the growth and development of startups and entrepreneurs in the Inishowen region.
Mr Tedstone will bring his extensive experience and expertise, providing guidance,
mentorship, and support to startups and entrepreneurs. His appointment, in a voluntary capacity, will help to ‘foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship’ in the region, driving economic growth and job creation.
With years of experience as a successful entrepreneur, industry domain expert, and investor, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table.
As Entrepreneur in Residence, Mr Tedstone will work closely with the ii to provide startups and entrepreneurs with access to his guidance and expertise through various opportunities.
These opportunities allow startups and entrepreneurs to combine the supports that the ii offers, through its connections with support agencies like Local Enterprise Office Donegal and Enterprise Ireland and technology experts like WiSAR, Ulster University, and NWRC Industry 4.0 Centre.
This appointment is for an initial period of one year, after which another entrepreneur will take on the role, ensuring a continuous flow of fresh ideas and expertise.
“I am thrilled to be appointed as the first Entrepreneur in Residence at Inishowen innovation,” Mr Tedstone said.
“I am passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and startups, and I believe that the ii has the potential to become a generator for innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.”
Anne Marie McLaughlin, Innovation Manager at ii, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lee as our first Entrepreneur in Residence. His expertise and experience will help us nurture and grow the startups and entrepreneurs in the area and his commitment to local enterprise will play a vital role in helping to put Inishowen on the map as a successful innovation ecosystem.”
