A recruitment freeze in the HSE will be lifted from today, Monday, CEO Bernard Gloster has announced.
The HSE will receive an extra €1.2 billion in 2025 to meet the cost of existing levels of service. A further €1.5 billion has been approved for the running of the health service this year.
Last November, the existing recruitment ban in the HSE was extended to almost all staff, with the exception of consultants and doctors in training, as well as graduate nurses and midwives.
Bernard Gloster, HSE CEO told RTÉ Radio yesterday that 4,000 posts have been secured with the €1.5 billion allocated.
