There was a lucky escape for a driver last night after a car plunged into Lough Salt.
A white Fiat 500 appeared to veer out of control on the Lough Salt Road before going through a protective wall and dropping several metres off the edge and into the water.
The incident occurred at around 10pm last night.
Videos and photos of the accident quickly circulated on social media, showing the car mostly submerged in the cold Donegal water.
The vehicle ended up with only its left rear wheel and boot out of the water, with the driver’s side door being completely submerged.
However luckily the occupants of the car managed to miraculously escape the car without any physical injuries.
