Two councillors of the Lifford-Stranorlar MD have called for more intervention to prevent visitors from driving down the old road between Letterkenny and Stranorlar.
The old route at Kilross is being suggested by Sat nav systems recently, however this leads motorists down a dead end.
Cllr Patrick McGowan said: “Even though there are ‘No Through Road’ signs quite visible, last week at least four cars went down that road. They are telling local people down there that the Sat nav is taking them down.
“It’s ridiculous, there’s nowhere to turn down there, you are in and out to private property and coming back that extremely dangerous road there on the old back road on the Letterkenny side at Kilross.”
Cllr Martin Harley echoed the concerns and called for more signage.
“There will be an accident if nothing is done,” Cllr Harley said.
Donegal County Council agreed to follow up on the concerns.
