Finn Harps legend Jim Sheridan was honoured at a special event in Letterkenny last night.
The Letterkenny Community Heritage Group hosted the event for the man who captained Harps to their 1974 FAI Cup win at Dillon’s Hotel, with plenty of Harps legends on hand to thank Jim for his contributions.
There were a number of guest speakers, including former Harps Manager Patsy McGowan, fellow former Captain Jamsie Nicholl, and Harps historian Bartley Ramsay.
Addressing the large crowd gathered in his honour, Jim Sheridan spoke of the great times he had with all of his teammates when he was leading the club, and focused especially on the famous FAI Cup Final win over St Pat’s.
Jim thanked his former teammates for turning up in such large numbers to celebrate him, and the many other notable figures who showed up to make it a special occasion for him and his family.
