In a throwback to the Celtic Tiger era prices, a six acre field in east Donegal has gone on the market for a cool €1,000,000.

Advertised as a ‘building site’, the ‘fully serviced’ plot at Magheramore, Manorcunningham, does not come with planning permission.

Situated on the main Letterkenny to Derry road next to the Churchlands estate, however, it does boast spectacular views over Lough Swilly and the Big Isle.

According to the selling agents, Sherry FitzGerald Paul Reynolds, planning permission had been obtained on part of this land, but has since lapsed.

“Currently, housing development is ongoing and (Manor is) quickly becoming a place to live and commute to the major towns, such as Letterkenny,” the auctioneer’s sales literature stated.

“Near neighbouring villages remember the era of industrial time fondly and would embrace any new technological advances.”
