Donegal tourism and hospitality providers enjoyed great success at The 6th Irish Hospitality Awards 2024, taking home a string of prestigious titles.
The ceremony, held on Monday, July 1st at The Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport, was a night of celebration for the industry’s thriving professionals.
The awards provide a platform to thank and honour those who have contributed to making Ireland a friendly and welcoming place, enhancing the country’s reputation nationally and internationally.
Donegal’s impressive haul of awards went to a range of providers including John McGrory of John’s Ireland and Walking Ireland who won ‘Best Day Out’.
Shandon Hotel & Spa in Portnablagh secured the top spot of Spa Hotel of the Year, while manager Carolynne Murray was shortlisted for Best Hotel General Manager of 2024.
The Silver Tassie in Letterkenny won Hotel of the Year while McGrory’s Hotel Culdaff was Highly Commended for Value Hotel of the Year
Donegal’s festival scene also received a well-deserved shoutout with the Rory Gallagher Festival earning a Highly Commended distinction in the Best Irish Festival category.
Cinemas and pubs weren’t left out either, with Century Complex in Letterkenny getting a Highly Commended nod in the Best Cinema category and Farren’s Bar in Malin Head won Best Bar in Ireland.
The award for Best Entertaining Team went to Travers Holiday Park in Bundoran.
The Gateway Lodge in Donegal Town rounded out Donegal’s success story with a Highly Commended recognition in the Bed & Breakfast of the Year category.
