Jim McGuinness took time out from his busy schedule this week to raise the seventh Green Flag at Scoil Mhuire Creeslough.
The Glenties man, who now lives nearby, was happy to take a break from preparations for Sunday’s All-Ireland Quarter Final clash with Louth for the local schoolchildren.
He spoke at length to the adoring pupils and emphasised to them the importance of training. Needless to say, the children were delighted to meet their special guest and Jim brought with him the Anglo-Celt Cup which also brought great excitement to the teachers and staff.
“All were delighted to see Jim and we thank him for taking the time to call to us,” local Parish Priest, Fr John Joe Duffy, said.
It was also an emotional day for the 6 th Class pupils who have now completed their primary education. They attended their farewell Mass of thanksgiving on Friday last, pictured with their class teacher Ms Claire Gallagher.
They also recently visited Aras an Uchtaran, Dail Eireann and Croke Park.
