Donegal GAA legend Frank McGlynn has been confirmed as the new principal of Dooish National School, Ballybofey.
The popular Glenfin man takes over from Packie Bonner who recently retired after 26 years in the hot seat.
It will be a homecoming of sorts as McGlynn received his primary education at Dooish, which straddles the Glenfin and Stranorlar parishes.
The new appointment was confirmed in an email to parents this morning from the Board of Management.
McGlynn had been a teaching principal at St Patrick’s NS, Drumkeen, since 2019, having previously taught at Stramore NS, Glendowan.
He is very much a Donegal legend with 172 appearances for the county and was an integral part of their 2012 All-Ireland team as well as winning a number of Ulster medals.
