A drug driver was arrested last night as the Gardaí’s Donegal Rally policing efforts got underway.
Gardaí say the driver was stopped outside Letterkenny, and subsequently tested positive for cocaine.
Elsewhere Gardaí in Ballyshannon seized a car after a number of infractions were found.
According to Gardaí, the car’s NCT, Insurance and Tax documentation appeared to be falsified.
The tyres on the car were also bald, and when stopped, the driver and two passengers were not wearing their seatbelts.
The car was seized, and the driver will now face a court appearance and fixed charge penalty notices for the infractions.
