Fahan residents have raised concerns about the future of their local health centre after reports surfaced of patients being sent to Buncrana and Muff for nursing services.
This comes despite assurances from the HSE (Health Service Executive) in March that there were no plans to relocate the Public Health Nurse from the Fahan Health Centre.
Cllr Jack Murray said the recent measures “appear to fly in the face of the HSE’s very recent written commitment”.
“So I’m now calling the HSE to live up to their word,” Cllr Murray said.
“I’ve written to them, asking them to do so, while Pádraig Mac Lochlainn has also submitted a Parliamentary Question to the Minister for Health.”
Cllr Murray has called on the public to voice their concerns.
“I have no doubt that the community will once again rally together on this so I’d ask you all to make your opinions known to the HSE.”
