Donegal Airport has confirmed it will not be impacted by the impending strike action by Aer Lingus pilots.
The Irish Airline Pilots Association (IALPA) yesterday served notice of an indefinite work-to-rule from Wednesday 26 June as part of an ongoing pay dispute.
“We’re advising passengers that Aer Lingus Regional flights, operated by Emerald Airlines, won’t be affected by the upcoming industrial action involving Aer Lingus pilots,” a spokesperson for Donegal Airport said.
“This includes flights on the Donegal – Dublin – Donegal route, as these are operated by Aer Lingus Regional.”
Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Aer Lingus, Donal Moriarty, told RTE News that its assessment of next week’s planned industrial action is ongoing but that the impact will be significant.
“It will definitely trigger cancellations and it’s likely to be cumulative with the level of cancellation increasing as time goes by, so it will definitely be significant,” Mr Moriarty said.
