Eamon Ryan is to announce shortly that he is stepping down as the leader of the Green Party.
He is believed to be going to make the announcement following a meeting of the Cabinet this afternoon.
However, he is expected to remain in his role as Minister for Transport, Climate, Environment and Communications
Catherine Martin is reportedly among the front-runners to replace him as party leader – she narrowly lost out in a leadership contest during the midst of the Covid pandemic, and is currently deputy leader of the Greens.
