Donegal Minister, Charlie McConalogue, is being tipped to become Ireland’s new EU Commissioner.
The Farming Independent is reporting that the Minister for Agriculture is among those in the running to be appointed to the prestigious role.
Fianna Fáil is expected to choose Ireland’s representative for the new European College of Commissioners, which is set to be appointed in the coming months.
The Irish dairy industry is also reported to be gearing up to lobby senior government ministers in a bid to secure the Environment Commissioner portfolio in the upcoming reshuffle of the European Commission.
