Election 2024: Brogan and Kavanagh elected on 13th count in Letterkenny

Ciaran Brogan (FF) and Jimmy Kavanagh (FG) have been elected to the Letterkenny Electoral Area on the 13th count.

Both sitting councillors had to wait two days to finally be hoisted up by their supporters in this seven seater constituency.

Jimmy Kavanagh celebrates his election

Brogan received a total of 1,822 votes while Kavanagh received 1,685.

They were the fourth and fifth councillors to be elected in this area.

There remains just one seat to be filled with Donal Coyle in pole position to claim the last seat ahead of Aontu’s Mary T Sweeney.
