A coffee morning in Milford raised much-needed funds for charity on World MS Day.
It was hosted at the Reformed Presbyterian Church, where there was also an art exhibition on display.
The event was a huge success, as members of the local Swilly & Mulroy MS Support Group had the chance to show off their great artworks.
A total of €691 was raised for multiple sclerosis charities.
The artists also had support from the Milford and District Resource Centre, as well as Lesley Newberry and art therapist Bernadette Hopkins, who said of the program that “Art has the power to heal and connect. It’s heartening to see our creations making a difference.”
Participants created beautiful birdboxes, alongside many other colourful creations.
The birdhouses will be donated to the Community Health Forum for placement across Donegal, and from Rathmullan to Downings, and along the Colmcille Trail in Milford, community members can now spot these charming birdboxes on trees.
MDRC say that the initiative not only supports MS awareness but also enhances local green spaces.
The organisers extend heartfelt thanks to the Donegal Local Development Company (DLDC) and The Reformed Presbyterian Church for their support. Thank you to everyone that supported this wonderful event and especially all the participating artists, as they made this event a memorable and impactful occasion for all the community.
