Donegal 3-17 v 0-22 Mayo
Donegal avenged their defeat in the final of the Nicky Rackard Cup last season with a phenomenal comeback win to lift the cup this evening.
Both sides got off to an even start in the early going, but Mayo would pull ahead in the closing moments of the first half though, establishing a four-point lead at the break, 0-12 to 0-08.
Donegal were far from out of the fight though, a Ruari Campbell goal in the early minutes of the second half providing a vital boost.
Even though Mayo would keep knocking points over, Donegal kept fighting back with crucial scores, but with ten minutes left in the contest Donegal were still trailing, 1-16 to 0-21.
However two quick-fire goals from Josh Cronolly-McGee, and a second goal of the game for Ruari Campbell suddenly turned the tables in Donegal’s favour as they looked to avenge their defeat last season in the final.
After a tense final few minutes, Donegal would hold off the Mayo onslaught to seal the title.
