Another Donegal church has been broken into and robbed.
The latest church to be hit is St Michael’s Church in Creeslough which was targeted on Sunday last.
Gardai believe that thieves gained entry to the church by the rear open door between the hours of 12.40pm and 9.15pm.
A locked office door within the church was forced open and a sum of money was stolen from within.
A Garda spokesperson said “We appeal to anybody who may have observed suspicious activity around the church on Sunday to make contact with Gardaí.
“We are anxious to progress the investigation so if anybody can assist with information we ask them to please contact Milford Garda Station on 074-9153060. The Garda Confidential line may be reached on 1800 666 111.”
The break-in to St Michael’s Church is the latest in a spate of such burglaries at churches across Donegal.
The two most recent occurred at the Chapel of Ease in Fahan on April 29th last when two candle donation boxes were damaged and cash was stolen.
St Crona’s Church in Dungloe was also targeted the following day.
Gardai have appealed to the public to come forward if they have any information about any of these incidents.
