Thirteen Donegal-based businesses are making their way to the London Irish Centre in Camden on Thursday, 16th May to participate in the Donegal Jobs Fair, an event being hosted by Donegal County Council.
This event aims to promote job and career opportunities across various sectors, including tech, engineering, construction, local government, education, healthcare, financial and professional services. The primary focus is on reaching out to Donegal people living in London who are considering returning home, as well as individuals interested in relocating to the northwest of Ireland.
The event will highlight the opportunities for a better work-life balance in Donegal and many of the companies participating are actively seeking to fill senior positions.
One of the companies attending is PGIM, the global asset management business of Prudential Financial Inc. and one of the Top 10 Global Asset Managers. PGIM provide a broad suite of strategies in both public and private markets across a wide range of asset classes, from fixed income and equity to alternatives and private credit. Based in Letterkenny, PGIM Ireland offer a wide range of opportunities which include; commercial loan servicing, asset management, investment operations, investor services, accounting, treasury, actuarial and IT.
Speaking in advance of the Jobs Fair, Sarah Kinsley from PGIM Ireland says that “this is an opportunity to connect with highly skilled and talented individuals who may have a desire to return to, or indeed relocate to the North West. The event gives us an platform to showcase the wide range of opportunities that are available within PGIM now and in the future.
There are also opportunities for those interested in engineering and construction with Donegal based Mantis Cranes and Mc Menamin Engineering also attending the event in London.
They are family run companies, specialising in Tower Cranes and Structural Steel Fabrication throughout Ireland and UK, with their head office in Killygordon, Co Donegal.
Aine McMenamin is the Commercial Director with McMenamin Engineering and explains that they have a number of positions available saying “we have job opportunities across various departments including in areas such as sales, service, design, manufacturing and admin as well as a number of senior management positions. We are looking forward to the Jobs Fair in London and we are delighted to be part of promoting our home county Donegal”.
Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council Cllr. Martin Harley believes that this event provides a unique platform to showcase the vibrant business community in Donegal and is delighted that the Council is working with businesses to attract talent and investment to Donegal, saying “I am asking anyone with family and friends in London to encourage them to attend this event and to learn more about the opportunities that Donegal has to offer. Attendees will have an opportunity to speak directly to the companies and organisations and find out more about what they can offer and the opportunities that Donegal has.
Other companies that will be participating in the Donegal Jobs Fair in London include Donegal County Council, Health Service Executive (HSE), TATA Consultancy Services , Optum, PGIM Ireland, Forward Emphasis, Sita, Source Civil LTD, BuildCost, Errigal Training Centre & CoLab ATU Donegal. This event is being hosted by Donegal County Council’s Economic Development Division
