An Inishowen local election candidate has expressed their shock and disappointment, after some of their election posters were vandalised.
Adrian McMyler, founder of the Buncrana Children’s Charity, called out the vandals on social media after some of his posters were burned and vandalised with offensive messages.
“It is so tough seeing my posters burned down and vandalized with hurtful messages. I’m just a young person trying to help my community, and this is really disheartening and scary,” Adrian posted.
“Please, let’s keep things respectful and positive. Vandalism is against the law in Ireland, and investigations are happening. Our local people are better than this. This small minority does not represent this wonderful town. Don’t let our community down.”
Adrian is running as a local election candidate in the Buncrana LEA in the upcoming elections.
He has promised that those responsible for vandalising the posters will be brought to justice.
“Additionally, those responsible for this vandalism will be caught and held accountable. Their actions will not go unnoticed, and they will be named and shamed if it continues.”
“Please stop. Let’s choose respect and civility over destruction.”
