The Gallowglass Community Centre was at capacity last Friday for a documentary screening showcasing the reality of life under occupation in Palestine.

The event was co-hosted by Milford & District Resource Centre and the Donegal branch of the Ireland for Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

With 70 people in attendance,  €1200 was raised for Medical Aid for Palestinians.

According to organisers, the event captivated audiences and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees.

‘Freedom to Run’ documents an exchange project between two groups of runners, one Scottish, one Palestinian, who participate in the Palestine and Edinburgh marathons, the marathons become a framing device to learn about the Israeli occupation.

Cairsti Russell (Director) was dedicated to creating innovative and thought-provoking film that inspired audiences, with a focus on storytelling and excellence in artistic integrity, pushing the boundaries of film and exploring the human experience while raising awareness of the human condition in all its complexity. This film did just that by informing and educating viewers of the realities of occupation and apartheid through a simple, human narrative lens.

“Sincere thank you to all in attendance, who supported such a worthy cause, we were thrilled with the incredible turnout,” a spokesperson said.
