The 27th edition of the North West 10k was a runaway success, with over 1,000 runners and walkers taking the start this morning.
Letterkenny’s local community came out in force to support the runners, as well as the three charities being benefited by this year’s event – the Kilmacrennan, Termon, Gartan, Churchill and Trentagh Community First Responders, Letterkenny Community Childcare Centre and the Cara House Family Resource Centre.
Mark Greenan crossed the finish line first overall, completing the 10k in a time of 32 minutes and 23 seconds.
Meanwhile Letterkenny AC’s Noeleen Scanlon won the women’s race, in a time of 36 minutes and 7 seconds.
The North West 10k organisers say that a total of 1,107 runners registered for this year’s event.

Massive thanks to Joe Boland from North West Newspix, who donned his camera to grab these great shots of those taking part today.
