A Donegal local election candidate has been re-elected to the governing body of Aontú.
Mary T Sweeney, who will stand for the party in the Letterkenny EA, was selected for the fifth year in a row to serve on the Ard Comhairle, its officer board.
She won the vote at the party’s Ard Fheis last weekend which saw over four hundred delegates from throughout the country in attendance.
The party is fielding five candidates across Donegal for the upcoming Local Elections on the 7th June.
Ms Sweeney said she was delighted to have been re-elected to Aontú’s Ard Comhairle.
“It is an honour for me to serve with principled people of calibre and integrity,” she said.
“Our party is arguably the only coherent and well organised opposition in the country.”
