The joint highest temperature in the country today was recorded in Ballyshannon.
The mercury soared as high as 19 degrees at Finner Camp at 3pm this afternoon, according to Met Éireann. Only Markree Castle, in nearby Collooney, County Sligo, recorded a similar temperature. On continental Europe, it was a rather chilly 14 degrees in Paris and just 17 degrees in Madrid.
According to the national meteorological service, it will be staying ‘largely dry’ this evening and tonight across Ulster with perhaps some light rain.
Later tonight, light winds will bring lower temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees.
The outlook for tomorrow is good, too. It will be mostly cloudy with occasional sunshine, and a few outbreaks of rain as well. Feeling rather mild in the afternoon, though, with highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees in light winds.
