The Malin Head community is organising a second “Walk Into the Light for Mental Health” in aid of Hughie’s Corner, Carndonagh.
The walk is planned for the morning of May 11th and will be leaving the Crossroads area at 4am to walk to Banbas Crown for the sunrise.
It’s an informal event aiming to raise money for Hughie’s Corner Child and Adolescent Therapeutic Centre. The centre was set up in Carndonagh in memory of eight-year-old Hugh Simpson-Callaghan, who passed away in 2011. Hughie’s Corner provides free children’s therapy to children aged 5-18 and is completely non-profit.
Each donation will be a beacon of hope for Hughie’s Corner and the people it serves.
“Last year the organisers raised over €1k and its hoped that we can raise more this year,” they said.
“The organisers are looking for helpers to assist this year. We need bucket collectors, a musician for the tower area, people to serve tea and coffee. We also need help to put the candles out on the way to the tower. If you can help contact Ali Farren at the community centre: +353 74 937 0478
