A talk on the little-known Killygordon writer, Samuel Seaton, will be the topic for tonight’s meeting of the Ballybofey, Stranorlar & District Historical Society.
The monthly gathering will take place in the Henderson Hall (F93 XV29), Stranorlar, at 7pm. This will be followed by a talk for members and the general public at 8pm on the fascinating story of a man not many have ever heard about.
Samuel Seaton was a poet and storyteller, believed to be from the townland of Ballinacor, Killygordon. He lived to the fine old age of 87 and died in March 1934. This talk will be given by Rev Raymond Blair and should be of great interest to the people of the Finn Valley. So please come along and you might learn more about this man.
This talk is free of charge and everyone is welcome to attend.
Membership of this group is rising all the time, so if you are interested in local history, come and join us.
Meetings and talks take place on the fourth Monday of the month.
