Anne Marie Rodgers (Nic Ruaidhrí) has been selected to join the Fianna Fail ticket in the Glenties Electoral Area.
She will join fellow party running mates Anthony Molloy and John Reilly as the Fianna Fail reps aiming to get elected to the Glenties Municipal District Council.
Anne Marie Rodgers was nominated by Fianna Fáil delegates mainly from the Gweedore/Cloughaneely/Dunfanaghy/Creeslough areas, with the formal selection convention to be arranged shortly.
In a statement announcing her candidacy, Fianna Fail said:
“Anne Marie has been working in the Community & Voluntary sector in Co. Donegal for over 30 years, mainly in Community and Rural development; she has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the issues that affect our communities and the ever-mounting challenges facing families in west Donegal, the daily struggles of households and the people right across the Glenties electoral area.”
“She has a natural passion for helping people, improving our communities and assisting our voluntary groups to access funding for their areas, to advocating for groups that wish to improve their areas and provide better services.”

Anne Marie is a native of Tory Island originally, she is a fluent Irish speaker with a qualification in Rural Development from NUIG and additional qualifications in Sustainable Rural Tourism and Business. Anne Marie Rodgers is a resident of Dunfanaghy since 2005; where she is proud to be a member of the vibrant local community.”
