Popular young Buncrana man AJ Doyle, who lost his life in a tragic collision in Australia, is to be laid to rest at home this Saturday.
Thirty-year-old AJ, who was living and working in Perth, died in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Easter Sunday.
The Kevin Bell Reparation Trust has been assisting AJ’s family in making his final journey to Donegal this week. An online fundraiser in honour of AJ also raised $160,774 (€97,000).
His remains are reposing at his Father Jason’s home in Druminor, Buncrana from today, Thursday, where everyone is welcome to come and pay their respects.
AJ’s funeral will take place on Saturday, April 20 at 10.45am at Christ Church, Buncrana for 12pm service with burial in the adjoining graveyard.
A poignant memorial took place in Perth two weeks ago for the community to gather and pray for their beloved friend, described as a “thrill-seeker who lived life to the fullest”.
“Let us carry his cheeky smile and infectious personality forever in our mind,” friends said in their heartfelt eulogy.
AJ is mourned by his mother Caroline McKinney, father Jason Doyle, and beloved brothers Aaron, Jamie, Gareth, Thomas and sister Eva; Granny Anne, Granda Charlie McKinney and extended family and his many friends at home and abroad.
