Gardaí in Letterkenny cracked down on a series of road offences yesterday during multi-agency checkpoints with the RSA and Customs.
One incident saw a driver arrested on suspicion of drug driving after they tested positive for cocaine. Further test results are now awaited.
Gardaí also seized a vehicle with a combination of expired documentation. The tax expired in 2018 and the CVRT (tests for light commercial vehicles) expired in 2020. Fixed Charge Penalty Notices will be issued in this case.
A garda spokesperson said: “Our checkpoints will continue. We ask all road users to ensure that their documentation is in order before driving. Never drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.”
