A man is to appear before Donegal District Court this morning after the serious assault of a young woman in Donegal Town.
The man was arrested following the incident on Saturday evening/Sunday morning last.
The attack happened when the woman was out socialising with friends.
Donegal Daily understands the woman was being attacked but was rescued after passers-by came to her aid.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed a man has been arrested and will appear in court later this morning.
A spokesperson said “Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault which occurred in Donegal Town on Sunday, 7th April 2024.
“Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with this incident. He is due to appear before Donegal District Court this morning, Monday, 8th April 2024.”
