A partial eclipse of the sun will be visible from Ireland at sunset tomorrow evening.
Astronomy Ireland say the eclipse will be most visible in the west of the country, from approximately 7:55pm on Monday evening.
“The best views of the Eclipse will come on the west coast of Ireland but everybody in the 32 counties will see this eclipse,” Astronomy Ireland say.
Despite there being a cloudy outlook for a lot of Ireland tomorrow, the best chance of spotting the eclipse should be along the west coast, or any west-facing body of water.
Astronomy Ireland say that “cloud cover will probably be more important than your location in Ireland and Astronomy Ireland are urging people to view from a location with an unobstructed Western Horizon perhaps a large field or park, west facing hill or across a large body of water such as a lake or the sea.”
Such events in Ireland are rare, with the next partial eclipse to be visible in Ireland not set to take place again until 2026.
