Former RTÉ broadcaster and journalist Ciaran Mulloly has thrown his hat into the European election race ring.
He’ll be running for a seat in the wide-reaching Midlands-North West constituency, of which Donegal is a part of.
Mullooly is running as a candidate for the Independent Ireland group, which was formed last year by several rural Independent TDs.
In a statement on Twitter/X, Ciaran said that he was “…delighted to announce that I have accepted an invitation from Michael Fitzmaurice TD to be a candidate for his party in the forthcoming European elections, and my goal is to take a seat in the Midlands-North West constituency.”
Mullooly worked at RTÉ for over two and a half decades, with his most notable role being as their Midlands Correspondent. He retired from the broadcaster in 2021.
